CHAPTER IX
PENALTIES AND PROCEDURE
 
  Punishment for wrongful seizure  
62. Any Forest-officer or Police-officer who vexatiously and unnecessarily seizes any property on pretence of seizing property liable to confiscation under this Act shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend

to 1[ one year and shall not be less than one month and shall also be liable to fine which may extend to ten thousand Taka and shall not be less than two thousand Taka].
 
 
 
1 The words `one year and shall not be less than one month and shall also be liable to fine which may extend to ten thousand Taka and shall not be less than two thousand Taka` were substituted, for the words and commas `six months, or with fine which may extend to five hundred Taka, or both` by section 16 of the Forest (Amendment) Act, 1990 (Act No. VIII of 1990)
